Post-migration

In this step, you will create and download the XML files that have been generated post-migration. To perform this follow the following steps:

1. Click under  Post-Migration to generate the XML and CSV files. The Generate XML window appears with the name of the XML file.

2. Click Generate XML.  

3. After the file is created, click Download and save the file.

Post processing and download logic to ControlEdge controller

At the end of the migration, ControlEdge produces output files in XML and CSV formats. Import these files into ControlEdge Builder to perform configuration and logic changes, if required.

After that process you can download the final logic to ControlEdge controller.

To configure XML file and download it to ControlEdge controller perform following steps:

1. Launch ControlEdge Builder and click the New Project button.

2. Select 900cp1 as the template and click OK. A new project is created.

3. Click the IEC Programming Workspace button.

4. Click the Configure I/O button.

5. Click the Import button.

6. Select the CSV file - generated by ControlEdge Transition after the migration of source PLC system. This file contains IO modules and channel information.

7. ClickFile > Import.

8. Select the Import PLCopen XML file option and click OK.

9. Select the XML file - generated by ControlEdge Transition after the migration of source PLC system - and click Import. This file contains control logic information.

10. The POUs are displayed on the left navigation pane.

11. Double-click a POU from the left pane to view its details on the right display pane.

12. During XML Import, Do not overwrite global variables else all the global variables will get overwritten including hardwired DI/DO

13. After Xml Import, perform 'update global variables from external variables' on controller

 Congratulations! You have successfully migrated the source PLC system files into ControlEdge controller using ControlEdge Transition.
