Migration

In this stage, you will import a default or custom function block mapset and migrate source system's function blocks to ControlEdge PLC function blocks. You can either use a default function block mapset provided by Honeywell or use a customized mapset file. Then migration is performed to  convert them to their ControlEdge equivalents. And there is Custom FB Mapset which can be used to assign your own ControlEdge PLC equivalent to the source.

You can use the Honeywell recommended FB mapset and perform the migration or Custom FB Mapset.

Default FB mapset:

To perform migration please select the Mapset which you want to use for migration, By default Honeywell provided mapset will be selected :

  1. Click the icon of FB Mapset and select the source PLC system FB mapset file. You have options to choose a default FB mapset or Custom FB Mapset.

  2. To choose the default mapset, click   and choose the default mapset provided by Honeywell. The mapping of the source system's FBs to ControlEdge PLC FBs is displayed.

  3. To choose your own mapset file, click and select the desired mapset and click Save.

  4. Click OK.

    5. The FB Mapset is performed and ControlEdge Transition is ready to perform migration.

  5. Click to perform the migration. This may take a while depending on the size of your source system database. At the end of the migration XML and CSV files are generated.

    Custom Mapset

     In Custom FB Mapset each function block can be assigned to the block which you want and functions the same. For e.g. PLC5's XIC is equivalent to NOC by default. In Custom FB Mapset you can assign any given variable which is suitable.
